Disney Cultural Representatives Return to Walt Disney World Resort in August

For many people, meeting cultural representatives from the various countries represented at EPCOT around World Showcase is a highlight of a trip to Walt Disney World. It’s one of those Disney details that takes something really good and makes it awesome. Their addition adds authenticity to every lodge they serve in and brings the culture of this country to life in an immersive way. Since the pandemic, these representatives are no longer present at EPCOT. However, next August that will start to change.

Disney International Programs has announced the return of Disney cultural representatives. Their return will be staggered, as most things have been since the parks reopened. The first phase will include recruiting representatives from Germany, Norway, Italy, France, UK and Canada for World Showcase at EPCOT.

Currently, Disney is reaching out to attendees from certain countries whose programs were shortened, canceled or waitlisted in 2020 when the pandemic hit. Those who had received an offer and had not yet arrived also have the opportunity to apply again. After that, others will be invited to apply.

Since the reopening of Walt Disney World, we have often been asked when Disney’s international programs will bring back Disney cultural representatives.

Today, we’re excited to announce that the Disney Cultural Representative Program will return in phases and begin welcoming the first new participants in August.

Cultural Representatives play an important role in our storytelling by helping us create authentic and immersive experiences for our guests as they share their country’s culture, heritage and traditions that have inspired our resorts, lodges and parks. theme.

We know how much our guests and cast love the program and have been waiting for the right time to reintroduce it. As we continue to bring back more cast and guest experiences, we are encouraged by the progress we are seeing in recent health trends, including the return of international travel and the expansion of the availability of vaccines around the world.

At this time, we are reaching out to participants from select countries whose program has been shortened, canceled or waitlisted in 2020, as well as those who had an offer and had not yet arrived. , and offer them the first opportunity to reapply. We will then invite others to apply soon.

We do this in a thoughtful and responsible manner with the safety of our participants and our work team in mind. With this phased reintroduction, initial recruitment will begin in Germany, Norway, Italy, France, UK and Canada for World Showcase at EPCOT. We look forward to engaging other countries and sharing apps with them once they remove travel restrictions and/or have CDC-approved vaccines.

We are building on the solid foundation of the relaunch of the Disney College Program last year. Both programs provide an excellent path to career development as they provide participants with the opportunity to learn, grow and develop and stay at Flamingo Crossings Village, a new state-of-the-art housing complex.

We are counting down the days until we welcome back our cultural representatives and will continue to keep you updated as more countries join us in sharing their magic at our parks and resorts.
