Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok

Long-tail boats cruising along Bangkok’s Chao Phraya pass the breakfast buffet at this 146-year-old institution. Every morning at 6:30 a.m., the Verandah Restaurant transforms into an assortment of breakfast delights, included for hotel guests.

On the other side of the spectrum is the Chocolate Room filled with caramel truffles, chocolate milk, macaroons and more. Next door is the ice cream and pastry room. Here, you can choose from a selection of vegan ice creams and sorbets made on site with toppings galore. The meat and cheese room is a personal favorite, with dozens of different cheeses and charcuterie from around the world, including vegan options.
