Henderson Park acquires the Amaris hotel platform to create Klarent Hospitality

Henderson Park, the London-headquartered private equity real estate company, announces that it has acquired the Amaris Hospitality business and hotel management platform from LRC Group and simultaneously launched a new dedicated management platform hotel and asset company called Klarent Hospitality. The acquisition follows Henderson Park’s recent acquisition of a key portfolio of 2,424 high-quality Hilton-branded hotels, managed by Amaris Hospitality, which closed in November. The Amaris Hospitality name and brand are not part of the acquisition and will continue to belong to the LRC group.

Klarent Hospitality will be led by the current Amaris management team, led respectively by Peter Stack and John Brennan, the current CEO and President. All Amaris Hospitality employees will move to Klarent Hospitality and retain their current roles, enabling a seamless transition for staff and vendors, as well as uninterrupted customer service. The launch of Klarent Hospitality will therefore have no impact on the employees, suppliers or customers of the 30 hotels in the Klarent Hospitality portfolio, where it will continue to operate as usual.

The hospitality sector remains one of Henderson Park’s conviction asset classes, having completed a number of significant acquisitions, including several benchmark hotels across Europe, in recent years. The Henderson Park portfolio now includes c. 9,300 rooms across the UK, as well as in Greece, France, Ireland and Spain.

John Brennan and Peter Stack, with over 70 years of hospitality industry experience, led the creation of Amaris Hospitality in 2015, which consolidated nearly 100 hotels in the UK and Ireland. After a £ 100million capital expenditure program, 22 hotel brand changes, significant improvements in product and customer experiences and a program to drive superior operational performance, growing investor demand sparked the sale of the Jurys Inn hotel group to Pandox in 2017. Subsequently, LRC acquired the Amaris Hospitality business and its remaining hotel assets in 2018.

Nick Weber, founding partner of Henderson Park, said: “The acquisition of the Amaris business allows us to launch on a large scale our own dedicated hotel operating platform, Klarent Hospitality. This new activity will be essential in helping us generate more value for our investors from our hotel assets. We have long admired Amaris Hospitality’s business model and track record, as well as the quality and expertise of its team. We now look forward to working with John, Peter and the Klarent team to capitalize on emerging opportunities in the hospitality industry in the near term, as well as the broader post-pandemic recovery in the years to come. “

John Brennan, President of Klarent Hospitality, said: “Henderson Park has a long history of successful investments in the hospitality industry and this transaction, with the creation of Klarent Hospitality, provides Nick and his team with a proven platform to strengthen their existing expertise in the hospitality market. the hotel industry. Our in-depth industry knowledge and experience in transformation, rebranding and hotel management are highly complementary to Henderson Park’s expertise in investing and managing assets in the industry. We look forward to partnering with Nick Weber and his team to maximize future opportunities within the hospitality industry. “
