Hotel Rendezvous appoints a new manager

SKIPTON’S Hotel Rendezvous, has appointed a new manager in an important step towards achieving a four-star rating.

The 96-room hotel is undergoing major changes following the retirement of popular business couple Malcolm and Karen Weaving. It was taken over by the management company First & Foremost, which has now appointed Kim Jackson as resident manager.

Kim brings a wealth of experience having worked in hospitality and event management around the world, including stays in South Africa, France and London.

She said: “I feel like I definitely made a fantastic choice in moving to Skipton. I have worked all over the world and a lot in UK and London. I chose this role at the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales because of the friendliness of the people, the quality of Yorkshire food and the unique landscape of this region.

“My colleagues have been brilliant, welcoming and supportive to work with, especially those who have been with the Weaving family at the hotel here for many years.

“I love that there are a lot of returning guests so it all looks very positive and uplifting, especially after the pressure Covid has put on the hospitality industry.”
