The body of a Parisian found in a suitcase left in front of her apartment

Police in Paris launched a major murder investigation after the body of a 12-year-old girl was found in a suitcase outside the building where she lived.

Lola Daviet was allegedly raped and tortured before being killed.

The young schoolgirl appeared to have been strangled and her feet were marked with the numbers 1 and 0, French television BFMTV reports
Lola’s father raised the alarm about his daughter after she didn’t come home from school on Friday, BBC reports.

That same evening, the suitcase with his crushed body inside was found at the foot of the apartment where they lived and where his father is employed as a caretaker.

So far two suspects have been arrested in the girl’s death – a 24-year-old homeless woman and a 43-year-old man. The couple appeared before a judge in Paris.

The suspect was reportedly caught on CCTV entering the building with Lola on Friday afternoon.

The woman lived in the same building as her sister who lives there.

Witnesses had reported seeing the woman leave the building pulling a container and acting inconsistently on the street.

A witness said she asked for help in exchange for money for an “organ trafficking case”, but police dismissed the lead.

The suspect is believed to be suffering from serious mental health issues.

The 43-year-old suspect is believed to have transported the bodies of Lola and the woman in his car.
